Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

Plain-language summary: OGKit is currently in private beta. Right now we only collect what you submit through the waitlist form — we don't sell it, and it's used only to invite and support early users. Once the product itself is live, this policy will expand to cover account and usage data. Details below.

1Information we collect

OGKit is currently in private beta, invite by invite. Until general access opens, most of what we collect comes directly from the waitlist form:

Waitlist information

  • Your email address
  • The URL of the website you plan to use OGKit with
  • What platform your site runs on (WordPress or otherwise)
  • Whether you'd be willing to pay for the product — used only to help us prioritize invites

Account information (once beta access is granted)

  • Name and email address associated with your account
  • Billing details, processed by our payment provider — we never store full card numbers ourselves
  • Brand settings you configure, such as logo, colors and fonts

Usage data

  • API and generation request logs (timestamps, endpoint, response time, status code)
  • Device and browser information, IP address, and approximate location derived from IP
  • Basic product analytics, such as which pages of the dashboard you use

2How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Manage the waitlist and invite users in batches as capacity allows
  • Provide, operate and maintain the OGKit image generator and WordPress plugin
  • Authenticate your account and enforce plan limits once billing is active
  • Send transactional emails (waitlist confirmation, invite notice, receipts, security notices)
  • Monitor for abuse, fraud and violations of our Terms of Service
  • Improve the accuracy and performance of the image generator using aggregated, non-identifying metrics

3Website content processing

To generate an Open Graph image, OGKit fetches the public content of the page URL you submit (its title, headings and visible text) so the AI can build a matching preview image. We treat that content with the same care as any other user data:

  • Requests are transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS 1.2+)
  • Page content is used solely to generate the image you requested — it is not published, resold or shown to other users
  • We do not use the content of your pages to train machine learning models, ours or any third party's, unless you explicitly opt in to a labeled beta program
  • Fetched content is not reviewed by humans except in the limited case of a support request you initiate, or an automated abuse/fraud flag

4Data retention

Waitlist submissions are kept until we've made a decision on your invite, and for a limited period afterward for support purposes. Once your account is active:

  • Generated OG images are cached for a default window so they load quickly on social platforms, and are refreshed or deleted when you regenerate or remove the source post
  • You can request deletion of your generated images at any time from your dashboard
  • Account information and billing records are retained for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period afterward as required by tax and accounting law

5Sharing & third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run OGKit, under agreements that limit what they can do with it:

  • Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers, to run the application and generate images
  • Payment processors, to handle subscriptions and billing once the paid plans are active
  • Email delivery providers, to send waitlist and account-related emails
  • Internal notification tooling (such as Telegram) used only by our own team to see new waitlist and contact submissions — this is not a public or third-party marketing channel

We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, property or safety of OGKit, our users, or the public.

6Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember basic preferences, once accounts are active — these can't be switched off
  • Analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage of the marketing site

We don't use cookies for third-party advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the dashboard from working correctly once it launches.

7Security

We apply industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls limiting who inside our team can reach production data, and regular review of dependencies for known vulnerabilities. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — but we treat any suspected breach as a priority incident and will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

8Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the Contact section below. We'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (for example, 30 days under GDPR).

9International transfers

OGKit's infrastructure may process data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms recognized under applicable data protection law.

10Children's privacy

OGKit is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — particularly as OGKit moves from private beta to general availability. If we make material changes, we'll notify waitlist members and active account holders by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of OGKit after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

12Contact

Questions about this policy or how we handle your data? Reach out and we'll get back to you personally — this is a small, independent team, not a support queue.
